California Association of Collectors Educational College Scholarships for High School Seniors
These high school senior scholarships assist students who will be attending a college, university or a vocational training school. Applicants are required to submit a 700 to 1,000 word essay on the importance of maintaining good credit while in college. All applications must be postmarked by no later than January 16, 2012.
Pinay Aspire High School Senior Scholarship for Female Students
This is a $1,000 scholarship award that is offered to female students who are of Filipina descent. Students must also demonstrate a strong potential for success, personal hardship and Filipino pride to qualify for the senior scholarship for high school girls. The deadline to apply is February, 2012.
Valencia Scholarships for Seniors in High School
Three $10,000 HS senior scholarships are awarded annually to seniors who are from the Bay area and who are college-bound. Applicants must demonstrate a financial need, the intention to enroll in a college, university or vocational school and be able to demonstrate an interest in writing or the written word.
Society of Women Engineers offers Scholarships for Female High School Seniors
This all scholarship program is specifically for female high school seniors who live in the Bay Area and who intend to pursue a degree in engineering or a related field. Applications for this scholarship become available starting March 1, 2012 and will be accepted through May 15, 2012.
AES Engineering Scholarships for Seniors in high School
High school seniors can apply for a $500 high school scholarship to be awarded through AES Engineering. Students must submit an essay to apply for the HS senior scholarship. The current essay topic relates to the impact of natural disasters and the global economy. The essay must not be more than 1,000 words. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is October 7th, 2011.
United States Senate Youth Program offers High School Senior Student Scholarships
This program is an educational opportunity for juniors and seniors in high school who have an interest in pursuing public service. Programs are held in Washington, D.C. each March. Two student leaders from every state will be chosen to spend one week in Washington D.C. to observe government. All expenses, including transportation will be provided by the program sponsor, The Hearst Foundations. Each delegate for this program will also receive a $5,000 high school scholarship. Deadlines vary from state to state but are typically between late September and mid-November.
Mitchell Scholars Program for High School Scholarships for Seniors
Each year a total of twelve scholars are selected for one year of post-graduate study within any discipline that is offered by an institute of higher learning in Ireland. This program was established in honor of Senator George Mitchell for his contributions to the Northern Ireland peace process.
The program is also meant to help future leaders in American connect with Irish leaders while at the same time recognizing leadership and achievement. Applicants will be judged based on leadership, scholarship and demonstrating a sustained commitment to public service and community.
The Mitchell high school scholarships for seniors provides for tuition as well as accommodations, an international travel stipend and living expenses stipend. Students between the ages of 18 and 30, including high school seniors, may apply for this scholarship. The deadline to apply for these college scholarships for high school seniors is October 4, 2011.
